Kevin Pyles began training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu over 25 years ago. He is a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and is an official affiliate of Lucas Lepri. Kevin has had the good fortune of studying under Lucas Lepri, Royce Gracie, Caique Ellias and others. His passion for the art lead him to open American Martial Arts Academy in Winston Salem in 1998 and due to popular demand of his teaching style, Kevin opened a second academy in Mt. Airy in 2016 and is duplicating the successes they had in Winston Salem. His mission was to create a path for everyone to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a fun and welcoming environment whether they were interested in competition, self-defense or fitness. By taking only the best aspects from over 25 years of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu experience and multiple instructor influences, he has created one of the most comprehensive Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu curriculums available today and the students and academy have experienced great success.
